Mexican Indie version: Clubz Vs MGMT

 By @JavtheFoster

                                      MGMT                                                                           Clubz

Without a doubt, the electro pop sound has gained ground in the music industry around the world and although reggaeton or trap are playing too much, electro music will always be current and constant.

The Mexican industry is always looking for bands that distinguish one from the others and although Mexico is a large country, in short, there are many independent bands with good songs that manage to take off, so it is not complicated when it comes to comparing two bands of different nations , who have the same musical project. Clubz is a Mexican band that managed to position itself in a short time as one of the best in Mexico since its debut in 2018, they have shown an alternative side when making music in the Aztec country. MGMT is one of the oldest and most important indie bands with a too peculiar style with a sound that is very difficult to imitate.

Music and rhythm

CLUBZ are Orlando Fernández and Coco Santos , who from Monterrey started a project that has shown that the way of making music in Mexico is changing and is taking styles from different parts, while MGMT is made up of Andrew Vanwyngarden who speaks so softly that sometimes It is impossible to understand him and you have to ask him to repeat his words. But there is Ben Goldwasser to help him.

The music of both bands is full of metaphors that are not difficult to understand because the rhythm and sound make it an easy drug to acquire to connect your hatred with the mind, although they are independent musicians who have a record contract, they are still a one of the few bands that did not lose their free essence when they signed.

MGMT - Congratulations

CLUBZ - THE ROLL

The truth can not fault as objectively these works of art are so ambiguous, represent the current contemporary art, The roll is a mini clip well lograd or on the other hand MGMT shows a kind of very consistent documentary to the letter, both sides managed to create that connection between song-video-sound.

Couples vs Couples

I can't decide which duo is weirder or weirder but the music they manage to make is great and that matters at the end of the day, the songs are so powerful by both bands, Clubz and MGMT are definitely changing the industry with this kind of synthesized music.

CLUBZ - SOON!

MGMT - Electric Feel

Technology can be very helpful and MGMT knows how to capture each song, that hipster vibe they show with hallucinogens is highly inspirational without being too politically correct, while Clubz continues with that psychedelic pop rock vibe that catches from the get-go.

Metaphorical Songs

If it is metaphors MGMT can give us a series of rules to understand their music, although the visual art is so explicit that we don't even need it, as for Clubz it is more visual when making its video clips, the art is quite noticeable and harmony that they like to achieve in each song.

CLUBZ - TEMPLES

MGMT - Your Life Is a Lie

The most particular thing about the music of both bands is the visual way they try to sell their music, it is as if quality matters more to them than marketing, their music is so mysterious, but it is impulsive that as you listen to it and know more than the band you get addicted to the sound The true concept of their musical style should be that their new music is authentic unlike other bands that although clubz may be inspired by MGMT they do slightly better.

Love And Pure Surrealism.

The way of making videos of both bands is so artistic and harmonious, it has such a peculiar way of posing each of the songs, both videos manage to convey the quality of each band represents.

CLUBZ - NAGANO feat ELA MINUS

MGMT - Alien Days

Clubz, being a Mexican band, has sought the support of other independent singers and the song "Nagano" is one of their most successful songs, and visually it looks perfect, showing that Mexican indie music is at the level of any other country. Alien Days is a simpler song but the visual context shown in the video makes it a master piece , both bands manage to create the perfect atmosphere.

MGMT vs Clubz 2019

In 2019 both bands released their new musical projects and although they sound different musically, they both have a similar essence.

MGMT - Little Dark Age

CLUBZ - REPLICA

Replica of Clubz, something that sounds like the same line that they have handled since its inception, the visual montage is perfect, but musically I feel that it is the same song, what saves their music is definitely their visual art, focus on the evolution of MGMT is See how a legendary band progressed through time, visually superior to Clubz and this single is stronger vocally and changes the rhythm a bit but visually we are facing bands that are visually superior to anyone.

Best popular song ever

These bands won the hearts of several fans thanks to songs that led them to reach more audiences. And it can be said that we are before his most successful songs.

CLUBZ - POPSCURO

MGMT - Time To Pretend

Although it seems that both bands are the nemesis of the other, it is appreciated that there are still groups that seek to make quality music .

Perfec Video - Song

The visual art in a song is important but these two bands are on another level, the aesthetics they handle in an accurate visual art, telling stories that transport us to another place.

CLUBZ - PALM TREES

MGMT - When You Die

Palmeras de cublz is something more nostalgic and avant-garde, it is a mini film about police criminals, a structure that makes it seem that the lyrics of the song make sense in an existential way. When You Die is a more moving song and the message is clearer, the lyrics are compressive from the beginning unlike Clubz that most of their songs tend to be mysterious and difficult to understand, the plot of the video is so addictive that I It makes me want to take a trip with LDS or whatever it is written, in addition to the social criticism that he launches in this song is quite powerful.
